One email a week — what's on, where, how much, whether there's a beginner lesson. No spam, one-click unsubscribe.
colorado.dance is the statewide calendar for exactly this. It lists every dance class, social and event happening across Colorado and filters to tonight, this weekend or any date you pick. Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and the rest of the state are all covered, across every dance style, and it is completely free to browse with no account needed.
Almost never. The large majority of Colorado social dances — salsa, bachata, west coast swing, lindy hop, contra and country nights — welcome people arriving alone, and most rotate partners throughout the evening. Listings on colorado.dance show whether a partner is required, and you can filter for events that include a beginner lesson.
Colorado has active scenes in west coast swing, salsa, bachata, lindy hop, country two-step and line dancing, Argentine tango, ballroom, contra and folk, blues and fusion, plus studio styles like ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop and heels, cultural traditions including flamenco, belly dance, folklórico and West African, and movement practices such as ecstatic and conscious dance. colorado.dance tracks all of them in a single calendar rather than one style at a time.
Many Denver and Front Range dance nights open with a beginner lesson included in the cover charge, so no prior experience or partner is needed. colorado.dance has a beginner-friendly filter that shows only events suitable for first-timers, along with drop-in classes that do not require signing up for a series.
Most Colorado social dances and drop-in classes run between about $10 and $20, and some are free. colorado.dance shows the price on every listing and has a free-only filter.
Anyone can add an event free of charge, with no account required, at colorado.dance/submit. A weekly class only needs adding once because the calendar handles the repeats. Every submission is reviewed by a person before it appears.
Yes. Any filtered view of colorado.dance can be subscribed to as a live calendar feed in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, so a chosen style or city stays up to date automatically. There is also an open JSON feed for developers.
Colorado's dance scene is enormous and almost completely invisible unless you are already in it. Salsa nights live on Instagram. Contra lives on a mailing list. The country crowd has its own Facebook group, swing has another, ecstatic dance has a third, and every studio publishes its schedule in its own format on its own site. There has never been a front door.
colorado.dance is the front door. One calendar, the whole state, every style, always current — so the answer to "where can I dance tonight?" takes five seconds instead of an hour of scrolling.
The calendar covers partner and social dancing — west coast swing, salsa, bachata, kizomba, Brazilian zouk, lindy hop, east coast swing, blues and fusion, Argentine tango, ballroom, country two-step, line dancing, contra and hustle; studio and technique classes — ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, heels, aerial and burlesque; street and club styles — hip-hop, breaking, house, popping and locking, afrobeats and K-pop; cultural and folk traditions — belly dance, flamenco, folklórico, Irish, bhangra, Polynesian, West African and capoeira; and movement practice including ecstatic and conscious dance.
And it is genuinely statewide, not another Denver-only listing. Denver, Boulder, Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Longmont, Golden, Pueblo, Grand Junction, Durango, Steamboat Springs, Salida, Carbondale and the mountain towns are all in scope, and anyone can add an event, free of charge — organizer, teacher, dancer or someone who spotted a flyer.
Every listing answers the three questions that actually stop people walking through the door: do I need a partner, will I be the only beginner, and how much is it? Day, time, venue, price, level and whether a beginner lesson is included — on every single event, because a calendar that makes you guess is not a calendar worth having.
Add the whole calendar — or just your styles — to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook. It updates itself.
Run it, teach it, or just saw a flyer? Add a one-off or a weekly series in about a minute. No account needed, and you don't have to be the organizer.
Add an eventEvery event has its own link with the date baked in, so "come to this" is one tap in any group chat.
